The Character Camp Foundation was established in September 2023 when our supported charity, Character Camp, began to pursue the purchase of a multi-million-dollar campus for the purpose of hosting and expanding its youth summer camp programs and other offerings aimed at combating community deterioration.
As is customary for many non-profit organizations, Character Camp is undergirded and protected by a charitable foundation.
The Character Camp Foundation exists to:
- Provide financial and material resources for the support of the mission of Character Camp.
- To Protect Character Camp from ever shifting its priorities and efforts to a cause that is not in keeping with the founding values and/or mission of Character Camp. Because the foundation would be the most significant source of support for Character Camp, it could possibly leverage that support to discourage the Character Camp board or Operating Staff from adopting incompatible values or priorities.
