In preparation for our summer aviation program, Cherith has been enjoying flying the first Character Camp flight simulator. The toughest part is the landing! We are adding Aviation Technology to our current line-up of Robotics, Electronics, Science Projects and our 16-seat Computer Lab. Kids who participate in innovative STEM programs tend to improve their academic performance, are less likely to get in trouble, are more likely to graduate high school and are more likely to pursue higher learning after graduation. Through the introduction of technology, we create an instant thirst for higher learning. By erasing the lines between work and play, Math and Science become pieces of an interesting puzzle.

Our goal is to expose students to the world of aviation while allowing them to explore the many aspects of the industry and career opportunities. This course allows students to truly consider if a career in aviation is something they would want to pursue.

Children who learn aviation experience a huge boost in self-confidence, believing they can achieve other goals that seem to be challenging. Our long term goal is to help students improve their character and increase their chances of high-school graduation and college attendance. Additionally, to broaden their career options giving them the possibility of earning higher wages and being independent productive citizens. As these individuals embark upon more lucrative career paths, they have greater opportunity to give back to their communities, further helping to break cycles of poverty and crime.

For 30 years, Character Camp has been “Building Better Kids” through innovative partnerships with schools, churches, youth organizations and Corporate America.
